Panto April 2008

Pantomime 2008
Will it... or won't it ?   Oh! yes it will.... and it did!!!
What am I talking about ? The production of 'Captain Hook's Revenge' by St Francis' Players. For three nights at the beginning of April we saw the fruits of their week's of rehearsal.
I was there for the Thursday evening and what a performance. The cast was in full flow and Oh!... shiver mi timbers!! those pirates - they were all over the place. The near capacity audience responded to everything coming from the stage and the players fed off that. A wonderful, wonderful show. I have a feeling the cast enjoyed it as much
as we did. Everyone gave of their best and it would be unfair to single out anyone, but perhaps I can say a big thank you and well done to James who not only took part in the show but also produced it. Your efforts were well rewarded. Here's to the next time

This was not an easy production. There were twenty three in the cast and the only time we were all together was at the choosing of the characters last July and at the dress rehearsal. Our original date in January had to be postponed due to illness so it was very satisfying to see it on stage at last in April and for all the hard work that had been done coming to fruition. My sincere thanks to the cast, to Bessie, the back stage staff, the doorman and raffle ticket sellers, the tea ladies and most of all to everyone who came to watch.
A total of £958.22 was raised of which £320
is to be donated to Cancer Research.
